Started

How do I get started?

Kindly take a few minutes to search through the website to find the service that you want.  If you are a student looking for tuition then use the button to search for the subject that you are interested in or tutors who offer that service. Fill in the registration form and send it to us and we will arrange the rest. If you are a tutor wishing to advertise your services then kindly click the tutor for us button fill in the form; send it to us to begin the process.

I would like to start learning, what do I need do?

You’ll need a computer, a webcam, a microphone, and good uninterrupted internet connection. Simply following the 4 simple steps

The subject I need is not listed on the Educand website?

No problem. Simply contact us at support@educand.co.uk, detailing your request and we will do our best to meet your requirements.

How do I find a tutor?

Its simple. Click on the link on the courses page the subject and the level you need tuition fort, a list of tutors with their profiles will be displayed. Once you have found your preferred tutor then fill in the form with details of the tutor and send it to us. We will do the rest. If you already have a tutor with us, then simply type their name in the search to rebook them.

Lessons

How do I book a lesson?

All lessons are prepaid. Simply click the profile of the tutor on the search page. Then click the ‘Contact/Book’ button and select the ‘Book a lesson.

How much and how do I pay for lessons?

All our lesson are prepaid and charged hourly. A platform fee of 25% of the tutors’ base charge is levied per lesson per hour in addition to the base charge of the tutor. Our secure payment system uses Stripe to accept all major credit and debit cards. Alternatively, you may pay through Paypal.

Will I be reminded about my upcoming lesson?

Yes, a reminder email will be sent to you before each booked lesson.

Can I book a lesson for longer than an hour?

All our lessons are booked on hourly increments. You can book and pay for as many hours as you need back to back. This is subject to the tutors availability.

What should I do if I am unhappy with my tutor?

Kindly send us an email to concerns@educand.co.uk stating your concerns about the tutor with whom you have an issue and we will find the best way to resolve it.

Why do different tutors charge different prices?

Our tutors set their own rates. Their rates will be based on their level of experience and the level of tuition you need. This means that you can find the best tuition for your money.

What should I do if my tutor misses an appointment?

Simply email us at support@educand.co.uk, with the date and time of the lesson and we will book you another lesson free of charge.

What should I do if I booked a block of lessons I no longer need?

We will refund your money back minus the handling fee to the platform of £2.50

About our online platform

What is the best web browser for me to use?

Our platform supports all modern updated internet browsers. The Google Chrome browser works best for the online whiteboard system. 

What is the online platform?

Our online platform connects you and your tutor for a one to one learning experience. Using webcams and headsets you can learn irrespective of location. You can share documents, pictures and videos as if you were in the same room. The online platform gives you the best of both worlds – an experienced tutor, and all the resources the internet allows to make learning fun and effective.

How do I use the online platform?

Once you have logged in to the website, you can access the online platform10 minutes before any scheduled lesson. To use the classroom you will need a microphone, headset, webcam, and the latest version of Adobe Flash installed on your computer. You will also need a good, uninterrupted internet connection.

What can you do on the online platform?

You can see and speak to your tutor using webcams and microphones. You and your tutor can both upload documents and share a virtual whiteboard, making it easy to fill in exam papers online and review work.

What are online classes like?

All our tutors are experts in their subject matter. Passionate and  enthusiastic. Once you’ve chosen a tutor they’ll work with you to create an individual plan of learning for you. All our Classes are tailored to your specific needs. Our tutors adapt their style of teaching to best suit the needs of the individual student.

Why should I tutor Educand?

We offer a platform that is free to register, free to advertise your services with no contractual obligations. All at a flat fee of only £2.50 per lesson. We gives you access to the largest network of students across the world. Tutoring online means no time or money is wasted travelling, and lessons can fit around your other commitments.

Who can tutor for us?

We choose experience teachers and tutors from the best UK based Universities who are passionate about education to join our community.

How often and when will I be paid?

All tutors get paid 3 to 5 working days at the end of each completed session.

Do I need to be located in England to tutor?

No, the great thing about online tutoring is you can be anywhere in the world, as can your students! You will need to be able to receive payment through PayPal.

What do I need to do to start tutoring?

Simply register and fill in your profile. A member of our team will review your profile and request a short online interview. If you are accepted, your tutor profile will go live on our website. All you need to teach is a computer, webcam, microphone, headset or speakers, a good internet connection and an account to receive your payments.

How long does it take for my profile to be considered?

Your profile will uploaded within 5 working days, once you have completed your profile and have been interviewed by us online. If you have any further queries, kindly email us at tutors@educand.co.uk

How much will I get paid?

The hourly rate you charge students is entirely up to you for each subject and level. The amount you earn will be your hourly rate minus the £2.50/lesson charge for the use of the platform.

How should students and tutors contact one another?

All contact between students and tutors should happen through the site; through the messaging system on the platform, tutors and students should not swap personal contact details such as phone numbers, emails or addresses. The reason for this is to protect the safety and privacy of our students and tutors.

What if I'm not receiving confirmation emails

Remember to check the spam box in your email account. If the problem continues, please send us an email support@educand.co.uk

What if I can't get into my lesson?

Email students@educand.co.uk telling us the date and time of the lesson, and the tutor it was meant to be with. This includes any technical difficulties.

How to I delete my account?

Send us an email support@educand.co.uk from the email you are registered with stating that you would like your account deleted.
